Cats for adoption > ASH & THUNDER

  • Age:  9 weeks/6 weeks

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair

  • Gender: Female

  • Looking for: A loving home together

Little black and white Thunder has been on something of a rollercoaster journey during her first 6 weeks on earth.

Born in a shed, and rescued when she was just hours old, she was the only kitten found, and her mama was somewhat indifferent to her.

Named Thunder (she was born during a storm), she spent most of her time hiding under her bed while her mum sat away from her. Sadly not all cats are naturals when it comes to parenting, and because little Thunder was an only kitten, this loss was felt all the more acutely.

So when Dottie and her three babies came into the cattery while their foster mum enjoyed a well-earned weekend away, we had a cunning plan, and although there was a three week age gap between Thunder and Dottie’s kittens, we introduced her to them.

Initially Thunder was a little overwhelmed, but her mum’s indifference and her spending her days hiding didn’t sit well with us, plus the lovely Dottie immediately embraced Thunder as one of her own.

So upon Dottie’s fosterer’s return, it was decided that Thunder should go home with her new-found family, and although she was unsure at first (see the photo of her hiding in her carrier), she soon began to fit in with the gang, she enjoyed some extra feeds from Dottie and has now established a firm friendship with Ash.

While Ash has been chipped and vaccinated and is ready to go, we will wait until Thunder is old enough. These two girls are now searching for their forever home together and if you would like to offer this to them please complete our online form.

All animals at our centre are vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and health checked by a veterinarian.
