A LITTLE BIT ABOUT HAKUNA, MATATA & TIMONE:
These little guys can always be found huddled together, as they are quite terrified of humans, having sadly had a very poor start in life. Presumably dumped, they were found living on the car park of a fast food restaurant along with their mum, Sarabi. Alerted to their plight, some of our most experienced volunteer cat trappers staked out the location, and it has to be said that the family did not make things easy for them-little Timone in particular, as it took an extra 48 hours to trap him after his mum and siblings were safe in our care! He was brought in crying out for his brother and sister, and once reunited with them, they immediately cuddled up with each other. Since then, they're barely apart, which is why they really need to go as a trio.
Mum Sarabi is being advertised separately, and her trust in humans is like the difference between night and day compared to her babies. She has clearly been in a home at some point, as she is loving, trusting and affectionate. Our guess is that she was abandoned shortly after giving birth, and her kittens sadly had no positive human interaction in their formative weeks.
Our team are working hard to gain their trust, and are making great progress, Ginger boy Timone is the most confident, and black and white Hakuna is the shyest, but all are starting to be hand fed, and consequently finding human hands slightly less scary.
They will hiss, panic and hide when approached initially, but we just know that they all have the potential to eventually become confident, affectionate kittens in the right home. All they need is time, patience and understanding.
We realise it's a big ask, to take on a trio, but we really can't split them up and we just hope that their perfect person is out there for them.
