We are delighted to say we are open. After purchasing The Holdings in 2011, lots of hard work, fundraising and patience, our 19 rescued cats were transferred from the private cattery we've been using for 6 years into their new cattery, which they all love.

Our sincere thanks go to the Lilian Andrews Charitable Trust and Support Adoption For Pets, whose generous grants have enabled us to provide a wonderful cattery, which we feel our cats so deserve, while they are waiting for their forever homes.

Appointments to view animals can be made by calling 01905 821272 (option 2) and speaking to a member of staff.

Quite an historic event as it's the first time in the 107 year existence (established in 1911) of the local RSPCA branch that we have opened our own re-homing centre.

We have our cats and small animals on site. Each cat pen has its own thermostat so that if it’s not warm enough the heater comes on and if it's too warm, the fan comes on automatically. They have a little shelf with carpet above their sleeping area, where they can sit and keep an eye on what's happening around the site.

We will expand to dogs as soon as we have raised sufficient funds to build a dog kennel unit.

So we still have a long way to go until the centre is fully completed, but with your help and support we can continue to develop and build this facility.

The Future

In late August 2021 work commenced on the second phase of our project, with the build of our Reception block currently ongoing.

We hope for this work to be completed by April 2022, at which point we hope to be able to continue into the final phase by starting our kennel block build.

Plans for this are already in place and ready to go, but we still need to secure sufficient funding to make this happen.

The new kennel block will provide 20 kennels and with this provision in place, we would hope to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome around 200 dogs per year.

Many dogs coming into our care have not had the best start in life, but we will do everything we can to give them the best chance to find a wonderful forever home. We have a non-destruction policy, so vets bills can be extremely high.

Our branch is self-financing and we rely heavily on public support; it is only with the generosity of our supporters that will be able to achieve our goals.

For anyone wishing to be part of this desperately needed centre and help with Phase Two, please send a cheque made out to "RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire Branch" and send to the above address or donate our Just Giving Kennel Block Build campaign page http://www.justgiving.com/campaign/kennel-block-build-appeal

We also have the option to "Buy A Brick" by texting BRIC to 70085 to donate £5 or via our Visufund page  https://visufund.com/the-holdings-dog-kennel

We confirm that 100% of your donation will go entirely to the building work. Our branch is run by volunteers who give their time freely for animals in need in the Worcestershire area. If you can help in any way, please ring 01905 821272
